A new Western film has been announced starring Austin Butler, Emma Stone, Joaquin Phoenix and Pedro Pascal.
Titled Eddington, the movie comes from writer-director Ari Aster - who earned huge praise in recent years for his films Hereditary, Midsommar and Beau is Afraid.
Co-produced by A24 - who were also behind Aster's previous features - the company shared an image on its socials, confirming that the project had begun filming.
Describing the movie as a "contemporary Western", they also announced that Clifton Collins Jr (Westworld), Deirdre O'Connell (Outer Range), Luke Grimes (Yellowstone) and Micheal Ward (Top Boy) are part of the cast.
The film's cinematographer will be the acclaimed Darius Khondji (Se7en, Uncut Gems).

Eddington has also been described as a "western noir dark comedy ensemble piece set in a fictional copper mining town in New Mexico" and is said to follow a small town sheriff with "higher aspirations".
The movie will mark a reunion between Phoenix and Aster after last year's Beau is Afraid and will see Phoenix return to the Western genre following 2018's well-received The Sisters Brothers (photo above).
Pascal also appeared in the 2023 Western short film Strange Way of Life, opposite Ethan Hawke.
A24 have said Eddington will be available to watch "soon", with the film most likely to receive a 2025 release.
