Warning: There may be tears.

You know you’re getting old when a TV show you watched in your youth is marking 30 YEARS since its first broadcast.

But we’re willing to set any anxiety caused by the realisation of our advancing years aside for a moment to wallow in nostalgia and to enjoy the cast of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air getting back together again for a reunion special.

Will Smith posted the first trailer for the HBO Max reunion special on Instagram over the weekend and it sees the cast reflect on how they all got started on the show, as well as some lovely tributes to the late James Avery (Uncle Phil), who sadly passed away in 2013.

We should warn you that one particular moment, where Smith recalls a private exchange between the pair after an emotional embrace on set, may just move you to tears.

Apart from that, it’s remarkable how little the cast have aged since the final episode of the show was broadcast way back in 1996 and while it wasn’t re-enacted in the trailer, a few subtle references to the Carlton dance suggest it will get a run-out at some stage.

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air reunion special airs on HBO Max on Thursday, 19 November. Details on when the show will be available on this side of the world have yet to be confirmed, but as the back catalogue is already available on Netflix, hopefully it will be sooner rather than later.
