Fyre viewers are all stunned by an incredibly surreal and NSFW story in the excellent documentary

“Take one for the team.”

In a documentary that’s brimming with incredible stories, shady personalities, and rampant fraud, it takes something truly startling to stand out from Netflix’s Fyre: The Greatest party That Never Happened.

Jesus, where to begin?

How about the promo shoot featuring the world’s top models who were selling the festival, but never had a clue wha it was about? When they were swimming with pigs and witnessing the festival’s co-organiser, Billy McFarland, passed out on a beach, surely they knew that something is very dodgy?

Aside from this, issues like overselling the festival, trying to pass off hurricane tents as luxury villas, deleting negative Instagram comments, scamming people for even more money with those bogus wristbands, and having no suitable accommodation or food were all prevalent.

The whole story is crazy but one particular moment that featured the event producer, Andy King, really stood out.

Without a reliable water supply at the festival site, the Fyre organisers tried to acquire four eighteen-wheeler trucks that were packed with cases of bottled Evian water. However, these trucks were seized by customs because various fees had to be paid before they were released. Customs required a cash payment of $175,000.

At this point, Billy McFarland approached Andy King with an extremely inappropriate proposition, which King details in the documentary.

“Billy called and said, ‘Andy, we need you to take one big thing for the team.  And I said, ‘Oh my gosh, I’ve been taking something for the team every day.’ He said, ‘Well, you’re our wonderful gay leader and we need you to go down, will you suck dick to fix this water problem?’ And I said, ‘Billy, what?’ And he said, ‘Andy, if you will go down and suck Cunningham’s dick, who is the head of customs, and get him to clear all of the containers with water, you will save this festival,” said King.

King then reveals that he was actually willing to go through with this plan – he even showered and drove across the island, prepared to “take one for the team.”

When King arrived, the head of customs agreed to release the water on the understanding that the import fee would be paid.

“Can you imagine, in my 30 years of career that this was what I was going to do? I was going to do that, honestly, to save the festival,” said King.

Since the documentary was released, viewers have been absolutely shocked by that particular story.
