Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin will be visiting Ireland this year

Paul Moore

George R. R Martin

Heaven for Game of Thrones fans. Who’s up for a road trip?

Before you say it, we’re going to get it over and done with… FINISH THE DAMN BOOK, George!

Yes, that might be the statement of choice for fans of the A Song of Ice and Fire saga, but we’re firmly of the belief that the dude can do whatever he wants.

After all, he did create one of the the world’s most popular sagas and we’d prefer it if Martin takes his time and absolutely nails The Winds of Winter, rather than do a rush job on it. Patience.

Well, the author might have the sixth saga in his epic series finished by the time he visits Belfast (we know we’re being optimistic!) for TitanCon 2019: The Eurocon in Belfast.

Martin will be this year’s guest of honour as he visits the home of Thrones from 22-25 August.

The event is taking place in two venues. The main venue for the convention will be the Hilton Belfast hotel and other events will take place at the Waterfront Convention Centre.

Further details about tickets – or membership as the event refers to them – and the other guests on the bill can be found via the official site.

If you’re a massive Game of Thrones fan, this could be an experience that’s cooler than the Night King sipping on a cocktail as The Wall comes crumbling down.

As for Season 8 of the iconic show, well, 14 April can’t come soon enough.
