A classic mystery movie is airing on TV tonight

The movie was nominated for seven Oscars and won the Best Original Screenplay prize.

The film is set in the 1930s at an English country house. There, several wealthy people, many joined by their servants, gather for a shooting weekend.

It's not long, however, before a killing takes place at the property. The story depicts the investigation which follows from both the guests' and servants' perspectives.

Helmed by one of the greatest directors of all time, Robert Altman (M*A*S*H, Nashville, The Player), and written by Julian Fellowes (who would go on to create Downton Abbey), Gosford Park works as both a gripping and playful whodunit and a powerful critique of the UK's rigid class structure.

The film holds a high 87% Rotten Tomatoes score. It was also nominated for seven Oscars, with Fellowes winning in the Best Original Screenplay category.

Gosford Park is airing on TV tonight on BBC Two at 11.05pm. It's also available to stream on Disney+ and Rakuten TV.
