Netflix is getting a new horror series from one of the world’s best directors

Wil Jones

Del toro Netflix

Mexican director Guillermo del Toro has already made the greatest film of all time.

Blade 2. Seriously.

Aside from that brilliant sequel, he also made Pan’s Labyrinth, Pacific Rim, The Devil’s Backbone, Cronos and the Hellboy movies.

In more recent months, he won the award for Best Director at this year’s Academy Awards for The Shape of Water and he’s a man that’s very much in demand.

Aside from this, he also has a remarkable eye for talent after producing The Orphanage – a film that we think is a genuine modern classic – and various others.

All things considered, he’s an absolute genius and the Mexican director is about to haunt your dreams once again.

Del Toro has previously dipped his toe into TV with The Strain- the show was based on his vampire novel and it ran for 46 episodes on FX – and he’s returning with a new anthology series.

After creating and executive producing the animated series Trollhunters for the streaming service, he has now pitched Netflix a horror anthology and it’s in pre-production.

Entitled Guillermo del Toro Presents 10 After Midnight, the show already has The Shape of Water producer J. Miles Dale is on board as an executive producer, and del Toro himself will be listed as be as creator and executive producer. There’s no word on if he will write or direct any episodes, but we would be very surprised – and disappointed – if he’s not heavily involved with making the show.

Prepare to be terrified.
