Dublin and Galway cinemas announce incredible summer film line-up

To celebrate Hans Zimmer’s visit to Dublin this June for his concert at the 3Arena, both the Light House in Dublin and Pálás cinema in Galway will be hosting a month-long showcase of the composer’s film work.

Screening over four weeks in June, the line-up boasts 22 incredible movies which span the composer’s career, from his early days in the 1980’s up until his modern day masterpieces.

“From his powerful and evocative scores and his iconic collaborations with visionary directors, the season promises to transport viewers into extraordinary worlds, where emotion, adventure, and imagination intertwine.

Light House and Pálás invite audiences to journey through the mesmerizing soundscapes created by Zimmer and relive some of the most iconic moments in cinematic history. “

Known for his scores in films like Cristopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy, Interstellar and Inception as well as Gladiator, Blade Runner 2049 and 2021’s Dune, Zimmer has become one of Hollywood’s most recognizable composers.

On planning the season, Light House Programmer David Kelly commented:  

“This will be an unforgettable musical journey with the mastermind behind some of the most iconic scores in film history. From the majestic roar of The Lion King to the heart-pumping intensity of The Dark Knight, Zimmer’s music has the ability to take you from the Roman Empire to a dystopian Los Angeles in 2049, from the edge of a black hole to a dream within a dream.”
