Harrison Ford “battered but OK” after plane crash in California

Great to hear

Conor Heneghan

Ford’s son delivered the encouraging news on Twitter last night.

Harrison Ford is believed to be in a “fair to moderate” condition after crash landing a plane on a golf course in Venice, California yesterday.

The 72-year old star of the Indiana Jones and Star Wars franchises, as well as countless other well-known movies, crash-landed a vintage World War II training plane, a 1942 Ryan Aeronautical model ST3KR after the plane reportedly experienced engine failure mid-flight.

The extent of Ford’s injuries have not yet been disclosed but his son Ben delivered an encouraging update on his condition via Twitter, saying that he was “battered but OK”.

Ford, who was the only person on board the aircraft, was treated at the scene by two doctors who happened to be on the golf course at the time.

A spokesperson for the Santa Monica Airport Association, meanwhile, described Ford’s landing as “an absolutely beautifully executed emergency landing by an unbelievably well-trained pilot”.

Get well soon Harrison.
