Harry Potter villain Jason Isaacs on Scooby-Doo, his perfect evil laugh and what it’s like to be a big Dick

Eoghan Doherty

Jason Isaacs

Hello to Jason Isaacs…

“In a world destroyed by evil, discover the epic origin story of the greatest team of heroes in the history of mystery…”

These are the words of Scooby-Doo, everyone’s favourite furry friend and star of Scoob!

The first full-length animated Scooby-Doo adventure – available to watch right now in the comfort of your own home – Scoob! is the never-before-told story of his origins, how he met Shaggy (his best friend furever), and how the pair of them teamed up with Fred, Velma and Daphne to form the amazing Mystery Inc.

Of course, every team of heroes needs a worthy adversary and so, step forward Dick Dastardly, voiced by one of Hollywood’s greatest go-to bad guys, Jason Isaacs.

With the perfect blend of moustache oil, 12 year-old Scotch and a most excellent evil laugh, Isaacs absolutely nails the part of the cackling, conniving criminal.

The fact that he’s also played Captain Hook, Dracula, AND Lucius ‘Hello I’m really evil’ Malfoy in the Harry Potter movies kind of helps too.

Alongside Isaacs, Scoob! also features the all-star voice talents of Mark Wahlberg, Amanda Seyfried, Zac Efron, Will Forte, Gina Rodriguez, Ken Jeong and the legendary Frank Welker as Scooby-Doo.

To mark the great news that you can now watch Scoob! whenever you feel like it, we caught up with Isaacs to discuss the secret of nailing the perfect family film, what it was like to deliver one of the funniest ever lines in a kids’ movie and we discover, like any horrible on-screen evil-doer, he’s actually one of the soundest people you could ever meet.

Enjoy…

If you’ve had a bit of a ruff day, settle down, relax and take a sneak peek at Scooby-Doo and friends heading off on their latest epic adventure.

Pawfect fun for all the family….
