Happy Saturday! Watch a movie.

It is officially a new year. 2021.

How should we celebrate, you ask? By watching a movie on TV of course.

Here are the best options this evening:

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindlewald – 6.35pm – RTÉ One

The sequel to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, this confusing movie is not as good as any of the Harry Potter films, but a pretty good watch nonetheless.

Plus you get to see young (sexy) Dumbledore, which is always a plus.

Cast Away – 8.30pm – Channel 4

Tom Hanks has to fend for himself on a desert island, giving the legendary performer a chance to flex his acting muscles. WILSON.

Dodgeball – 9pm – E4

“If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball.” A comedy classic.

Jack Reacher – 9pm – Sky One

Tom Cruise plays the well-known Jack Reacher character from the Lee Child series of novels. Decent watch.

Skyfall – 9pm – RTÉ2

The name’s Craig, Daniel Craig.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle – 9pm – Film4

A sequel to the spy comedy starring Taron Egerton and Colin Firth. Definitely still worth the watch even if you’ve not seen the first one.

Notting Hill – 10.20pm – ITV

Hugh Grant basically plays himself (not really, but you know what we mean), while Julia Roberts plays a Hollywood film star. Wait a second…

The Usual Suspects – 11.05pm – TG4

Worth watching for the twist in the end alone. You know the one…
