movies on TV

Ah, Tuesday.

Many see Tuesdays as worse than Mondays. Some see it as a step closer to the weekend.

We see it as a day to WATCH A MOVIE ON YOUR TELEVISION.

Here’s what we’re dealing with this evening:

Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit – 9pm – E4

A genuinely enjoyable spy thriller starring Chris Pine, Keira Knightley, Kevin Costner and Kenneth Branagh, even if it is on TV quite a lot for some reason.

Scary Movie 3 – 9pm – Comedy Central

A parody/horror movie that takes the piss out of scary movie tropes, in a fairly childish, gross way. Still a few laughs in there though.

Daddy’s Home – 9.30pm – RTÉ2

Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg star in this comedy, that is definitely funny, but not as funny as The Other Guys.

Training Day – 11pm – TCM

Denzel Washington’s best ever movie. Just this writer’s opinion. Dont @ us.

Get On Up – 11.15pm – Film4

A fantastic biopic about the life of soul singer James Brown, starring the late, great Chadwick Boseman and Viola Davis.

Platoon – 11.15pm – ITV4

One of the best Vietnam war movies there is, with a hilariously star-studded cast. Ready? We’ve got Charlie Sheen, Willem Dafoe, Tom Berenger, Forest Whitaker, Kevin Dillon, Johnny Depp and John C McGinley.

LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
