Easily one of the best actors of his generation, DiCaprio has been nominated for an Academy Award on five previous occasions but is yet to win a golden statuette, but hopes are high that he’ll finally do so later this month for his performance in The Revenant.
Leo would be a popular winner if he does finally get an award, so popular, in fact, that public gatherings are being organised in cities around Europe to celebrate.
At the time of writing, 974 people say they will be attending a Facebook event titled ‘If Leonardo DiCaprio wins the Oscar, everyone meet at the Spire,’ with a further 1,800 people saying that it’s an event they’ll be interested in.
The Oscars, of course, will be taking place in the early hours of the morning from an Irish perspective so that may affect attendances, but if you want to publicly display your delight at Leo’s impending victory, you can check out the event here.
There hasn’t been much momentum behind a hashtag below suggesting that cans should be added to increase the enjoyment of the occasion, but it’s early days yet.
