The new Hunger Games novel, Sunrise on the Reaping, has become one of the biggest-selling books of the year, with over 1.5 million copies sold in the first week of its release.
And now that a movie adaptation is in the works, fans of the novel and original series have been eagerly waiting to see who will star in the film version.
So far, the casting director of Sunrise on the Reaping has not disappointed us.
The team recently confirmed who will play the character of Louella McCoy in the series, and an Irish actress has landed the role.
Molly McCann has been cast in the part, following earlier performances in the likes of Bad Sisters, The Boy Who Never Was, Kathleen is Here and Maxine.
Also, as part of the announcement, it was confirmed that Iona Bell will portray the role of Lou Lou in the big screen adaptation.
The casting of McCann and Bell means they join Ben Wang, Jesse Plemons, Joseph Zeda, Kelvin Harrison Jr, Lili Taylor, Maya Hawke, Mckenna Grace, Ralph Fiennes and Whitney Peak in Sunrise on the Reaping.
The novel is a prequel to the original Hunger Games trilogy and follows a young Haymitch Abernathy (Zada) as his name is called for the 50th Hunger Games where he must fight to the death.
Ralph Fiennes will star as President Snow in the prequel, a role previously played by both Donald Sutherland in the original Hunger Games films and Tom Blyth in the earlier 2023 prequel The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.
