WATCH: Jason Momoa's new show looks like it could fill that Game Of Thrones void in our lives
From the creator of Peaky Blinders, no less!
Yep, Steven Knight of Peaky Blinders fame is both writer and executive producer on See, the huge-budget, blockbuster launch show, set to debut on Apple's new Netflix-competitor, Apple TV+.
The Wall Street Journal have reported that each episode of the new show's ten-episode first season has come in at an eye-watering $15 million a piece, which is only the budget that Game Of Thrones achieved for its six-episode final season.
The show's official synopsis is as follows:
"In the far future, a virus has decimated humankind. Those who survived emerged blind. Jason Momoa stars as Baba Voss, the father of twins born centuries later with the mythic ability to see - who must protect his tribe against a powerful yet desperate queen who believes it’s witchcraft and wants them destroyed. Alfre Woodard (Captain America: Civil War) also stars as Paris, Baba Voss' spiritual leader."
Yep, that certainly sounds like it should be expensive, and when you see the footage, you'll see it is definitely all up there on the big screen, with some of the episodes directed by Francis Lawrence (I Am Legend, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire).
On top of that, Apple announced that their streaming service will cost just €4.99 per month, after a seven-day free trial, or a one-year free trial for anyone who buys a new iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV.
Momoa's new show is far from the only series that new subscribers should be excited about, with The Morning Show (Jennifer Aniston and Steve Carrell back to TV!) also a major headliner, as well as new projects from M. Night Shyamalan, Oprah, and loads more still to be announced.
See premieres on Apple TV+ when the streaming service itself launches: Friday 1 November.
