Jim from The Office wants the show to return with a Christmas special reunion

Paul Moore

Fans would absolutely love this.

While fans of The Office argue over which version of the show was better – FYI, they’re incredibly different but we’re partial to the British version- there’s one thing that the staff at Wernham Hogg and Dunder Mifflin have in common – they both throw a damn good Christmas party.

As fans of Ricky Gervais’ show will know, The Office Christmas Specials featured some of the show’s best moments like Tim and Dawn hooking up and Brent finally working up the courage to say “Chris, why don’t you fuck off?”

In terms of the US version, we got to see Michael marking his ‘new girlfriend’ with a Sharpie and Dwight’s bizarre character, Belsnickel.

While promoting his brilliantly-reviewed new horror, A Quiet Place, John Krasinski has once again talked about the potential of The Office returning.

As previously reported by IndieWire, he said that he’d “totally do it” if NBC wanted him to come back, but since The Office’s original run had a real series finale that everybody seems happy with, he doesn’t want to mess that up.

Rather than make a new series, Krasinski thinks NBC should mimic the original British version and do a one-off Christmas special. “I think the UK thing that I always have pitched and wanted to do is that Christmas special thing, where we do a Christmas special this year and then two years from now, or three years from now, we do another one. I love that idea coming back finding out where everybody is. I would totally be down for that,” he said.

In a previous interview with The Hollywood Reporter,  Jenna Fischer (Pam Beesly) also said that she’s more than happy to feature in a reunion episode.

The Blades of Glory star said: “I loved playing that character and as long as Greg Daniels is the person in charge and the visionary behind it, then I would absolutely be up for it. We just have to get Mindy [Kaling], B.J. Novak, Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg, Mike Schur to write some episodes. That show was so great because of the talent involved behind the scenes, not just on the screen.”

We can definitely see this reunion happening.
