John Wick is officially getting a TV show - and Keanu Reeves is in

Yeah, we're thinking he's back.

If the wildly entertaining John Wick franchise has taught us anything to date, it's that it's surprisingly hypnotic watching legions of sharp-suited stuntmen get dispatched in a variety of inventive ways.

That, and the fact that Keanu Reeves apparently doesn't age anymore.

If you've yet to indulge, the 2014 original is on Netflix and well worth 101 minutes of your time.

Last year's Chapter 2 raised the stakes - and the body count - for a third entry, which should be hitting cinema screens in May of 2019.

But that's not all - the long-rumoured TV show spin-off is now official and has found a home on American network Starz, which has previously created American Gods, Black Sails and Ash vs Evil Dead.

Starz is teaming up with John Wick production company Lionsgate to bring The Continental to the small screen, with the focus on "a hyper-real version of Los Angeles" and the titular assassins-only hotel.

The news was confirmed during the Television Critics Association's winter press tour, with the added bonus that Keanu Reeves will reprise his role "at some point" in the series.

The Continental will be headed up by writer/producer Chris Collins, whose credits include The Wire, Songs of Anarchy and The Man in the High Castle.

Reeves will executive produce alongside director Chad Stahelski and screenwriter Derek Kolstad, among others.

“This series is truly unlike anything else on TV,” said Chris Albrecht, Starz president and CEO.

“The Continental promises to include the thunderous fight sequences and intensely staged shootouts between professional assassins and their targets that fans have come to expect in the John Wick movie franchise as well as introducing some new, darkly compelling characters who inhabit this underground world.”
