Special screenings of Jurassic Park in Irish cinemas for 30th anniversary

Jurassic Park

Hold on to your butts…

Originally arriving in cinemas in the summer of 1993, Jurassic Park remains one of the greatest blockbusters of all time.

While it was a complicated road to the big screen, including originally having a very different cast and scenes cut out for being too scary, the magnificent end result did land three Oscars wins, over a billion dollars at the box office, and (to date) five sequels.

Not to let the anniversary pass by without a celebration, Irish cinemasgoers will be able to check out Jurassic Park on the big screen again, as announced by the new trailer here:

Park Circus are looking after the re-release, and their official press statement reads as follows: “The gates are reopening… To celebrate its 30th anniversary, Universal Pictures’ Jurassic Park roars back onto the big screen from 1 September.

“An adventure 65 million (and thirty) years in the making, fans can now experience one of the biggest films in motion picture history in epic 4K for the first time ever on the big screen – with a 2K 3D version also available.”

JOE reached out to Park Circus to get a list of which cinemas would be showing the re-release of Jurassic Park, and while the specifics of which outlets/branches would be showing 4K and/or 3D screenings are not yet announced, they could confirm that cinema chains Cineworld, Vue and Odeon would be housing the anniversary screenings.

Additionally, confirmed independent sites across the island of Ireland include Eye Cinema (Galway), Stella Theatre (Dublin) and The Avenue (Belfast).

Some – but not all – of these cinemas already have their tickets for these screenings on sale, with more outlets making their screenings available closer to 1 September.
