Disney+ has just added a new season of one of the best shows of the 21st century.

However, if that is not for you, here are the movies airing on TV tonight that you can watch to kick off your weekend in style.

Mission: Impossible 2 – E4 – 9pm

Widely considered the worst entry in the Tom Cruise spy franchise, M:I-2 is still not without its pleasures – particularly the over-the-top action set-pieces from director John Woo (Face/Off).

3:10 to Yuma – Film4 – 9pm

An acclaimed Western remake starring Christian Bale and Russell Crowe.

The Wonderful Country – TG4 – 9pm

Another Western, except this time from the ’50s and starring Robert Mitchum.

The Fourth Protocol – Legend – 9pm

An ’80s Cold War spy movie with Michael Caine and Pierce Brosnan.

Philomena – RTÉ One – 9.35pm

Judi Dench and Steve Coogan star in this powerful drama based on the true story of Irish woman Philomena Lee’s 50-year search for her adopted son.

Kajillionaire

A still from our pick for tonight – Kajillionaire

Long Shot – BBC Three – 9.50pm

In this fun mix of a rom-com and political drama, a journalist (Seth Rogen) reunites with his former babysitter (Charlize Theron), who now happens to be the US Secretary of State.

Circle of Friends – Virgin Media One – 10.30pm

Chris O’Donnell and Minnie Driver star in this adaptation of a Maeve Binchy novel set in ’50s Ireland.

Vantage Point – RTÉ2 – 10.45pm

In this political action thriller, the attempted assassination of an American President is told and re-told from several different perspectives.

Van Wilder: Party Liason – MTV – 11pm

Ryan Reynolds stars in this 2002 comedy as a seventh-year senior at Coolidge College who has made it his life goal to help undergrads succeed in the future.

The Client – ITV4 – 11.10pm

Susan Sarandon and Tommy Lee Jones star in this ’90s legal thriller adapted from a book by John Grisham (A Time to Kill, The Firm).

Kajillionaire – RTÉ One – 11.25pm

Our pick for tonight is this 2020 crime comedy-drama about an emotionally stunted woman in her 20s (Evan Rachel Wood) who has been trained by her con artist parents (Debra Winger and Richard Jenkins) to be an accomplice in their petty thefts and scams.

However, the trio’s relationship becomes frayed when the parents invite a stranger (Gina Rodriguez) to be part one of their schemes.

Produced by Brad Pitt and written and directed by Miranda July (Me and You and Everyone We Know), Kajillionaire’s deadpan performances and eccentric humour are the entry point into what winds up being a surprisingly powerful portrait of living within a dysfunctional family.

Boasting a 90% Rotten Tomatoes score, Kajillionaire is also available to rent on Apple TV and Google Play.

Man on Fire – Film4 – 11.25pm

Denzel Washington gives one of his best performances in this gripping action thriller as a former CIA man turned bodyguard who seeks vengeance after the little girl (Dakota Fanning) he was hired to protect is kidnapped in Mexico.

Relic – BBC One – 11.25pm

This very creepy and emotionally affecting Australian horror tells the story of a daughter (Bella Heathcote), mother (Emily Mortimer) and grandmother (Robyn Nevin) whose family home becomes haunted.
