Ann Doyle on Prime Video is all we need from 2024.
Several legends of Irish TV make some shock cameos in the upcoming Prime Video show LOL: Last One Laughing Ireland as revealed in the new trailer which dropped this week.
The show, hosted by Graham Norton, pits ten Irish comedy stars together to try and see who will break by laughing, with the last person not to crack winning the prize.
There’s tons of hilarious moments crammed into the new trailer, as the comedians go to extreme lengths to get their fellow peers to giggle, including bringing on Irish TV legends like Zig and Zag and Ray D’Arcy of The Den, Jedward and even Ann Doyle throughout the show.
Irish TV legends surprise contestants in upcoming Prime Video show
The 10 Irish comedians who will be competing on the programme are Aisling Bea, Amy Huberman, Catherine Bohart, David McSavage, Deirdre O’Kane, Emma Doran, Jason Byrne, Martin Angolo, Paul Tylak and Tony Cantwell.
The logline for the show is as follows: “Using his trademark wit, host Graham Norton will oversee the 10 comedic stars, brought together to make each other laugh by using every unpredictable comedic tool in the box … without cracking a smile themselves.
“With the added bonus of some celebrity cameos, their performances will have viewers—but hopefully not their fellow stars—laughing out loud.
“As the clock counts down and the tension rises, whoever can outlast their competitors will be crowned the first winner of LOL: Last One Laughing Ireland and win a grand prize of €50,000 for their charity of choice.”
Judging by the trailer alone, the show looks like – unfortunately for the contestants – a laugh a minute, with some gas scenes including Deirdre O’Kane saying “every time we looked over it was just Amy Huberman with her knockers out” and Tony Cantwell dressed up as a leather-clad cat.
The show has been a huge hit around the world, with previous versions in the likes of Italy, France, Germany, Australia and Canada.
After watching the trailer, we’re very excited to see what the ten Irish comedians get up to throughout the show.
