Star of Succession among The Late Late Show guests this week

Logan Roy will be in the house.

The Late Late Show returns to screens this Friday night (13 January) for another packed programme.

Leading the line-up is the great Scottish actor Brian Cox, who people will know from his appearances in movies like Braveheart, The Bourne Identity, The Boxer, X-Men 2, as well as for his incredible turn as the scary and sweary billionaire Logan Roy on Succession.

Cox will speak with host Ryan Tubridy about his connection to Ireland, why he dreams of an independent Scotland and the fans who ask him to curse at them.

Meanwhile, in 2018, Santis O’Garro was a single mother with a mountain of debt. Yet, a year later she cleared that debt with no safety net and no financial training.

She will be on the Late Late to explain to Tubridy how she did it, why money is a taboo subject in Ireland and how you can make 2023 the year you take control of your finances.

Alongside the director of the National Museum of Ireland, Lynn Scarff, Tubridy will also be looking at some of the historical objects.

The items help tell the story of modern Ireland as the country went through a revolution and found its identity politically, socially and culturally after independence.

Then, to mark Ireland’s largest festival of traditional music – TradFest Temple Bar – returning later this month, some of the country’s most talented musicians and vocalists will perform on the show.

These include Aisling Lyons, Aoife Scott, BLÁNID, BRÍDÍN, Frankie Gavin, Mike Hanrahan, Niwel Tsumbu, Segun Akano, Sorcha Costello, Steo Wall and Tommy Hayes.

Plus, the programme will welcome back Toy Show stars Cuckoo’s Nest for a performance as well as a catch-up on life since their debut back in November.

The upcoming edition of The Late Late Show will air on RTÉ One on Friday, 13 January at 9.35 pm.
