Some man.

Matt Damon has once again endeared himself to the people of Dalkey, but this time there were no SuperValu bags involved.

The Hollywood star recorded a video of himself congratulating the graduation class of a local secondary school.

He sent the message to the Principal of Loreto Abbey secondary school in Dalkey to congratulate the 6th year girls on graduation.

He said: “Hey this is Matt Damon. I want to just say congratulations to the Loreto Abbey graduating class of 2020.

“You guys are awesome and I am sorry you have to do this from quarantine. Congratulations, what an achievement. Good for you guys. Thinking about you.”

Damon along with his wife Luciana Barroso, and their three children have been staying in Ireland since the Covid-19 lockdown began. He had been filming Ridley Scott’s new movie, The Last Duel, in early March before filming was suspended.

He has been spotted on a number of occasions around Dalkey and has posed for pictures on more than one occasion, the most famous of which saw him posing with two children while holding a SuperValu bag.

“It’s been incredible,” Damon said in an interview on Fully Charged on Spin 1038 earlier this week.

“This is one of the most beautiful places we’ve ever been. Obviously what’s going on in the world is horrible but I’ve got my whole family; I’m with my kids and we have teachers with us because we were planning on missing school for about eight weeks.

“We’ve got what nobody else has, which is live human beings teaching our kids so we feel guilty. We’ve got this set-up in this incredible place. It’s absolutely gorgeous. Even in the 2km lockdown, we’ve got trees, and woods and ocean.

“I can’t think of any place you’d rather be in a 2km radius of,” he said.
