“You can’t speak. You can’t move…”
Welcome to #TrailerChest, where we’re taking a sneak peek at the brand new trailer for Midsommar.
Plot’s It All About? We said it before, and we’ll continue to say it until the end of time, but Hereditary is one of the greatest horror movies ever made, and both it in general, and Toni Collette’s performance, were painfully overlooked by the Oscars.
That movie’s writer and director Ari Aster hit the ground sprinting with his first feature, so obviously we were going to be very interested in what he did next, and barely a year since he had us screaming the cinemas down, he’s back with another creep fest.
This time around, we see Pugh (Fighting With My Family) and Reynor as a couple heading to a festival that “takes place across 9 days, once every 90 years” somewhere in Scandinavia. They’re joined by some friends – including The Good Place’s Chidi! – but what starts off as a nice, somewhat-hippy’ish experience soon turns dark.
And knowing Aster, the darkness will be unlike any other darkness we’ve seen. We can’t wait!
