Movies on TV Friday 14 June

Is that the weekend?

IT IS.

Magic.

Unreal.

Whatever you wind up doing, there’s always the opportunity for couch-based respite.

As such, it is time to review the line-up of movies on the box on this Friday 14 June…

About Time – Film 4 – 6.40pm

Charming and sometimes devastating rom-com-drama boasting the electric chemistry of Domhnall Gleeson and Rachel McAdams.

The Spy Who Loved Me – ITV4 – 9pm

Alan Partridge’s favourite Bond film.

Fast & Furious 6 – E4 – 9pm

The sixth one.

Quantum of Solace – RTÉ One – 9.35pm

Has its moments.

The Full Monty – RTÉ 2 – 10.25pm

Smash hit comedy about a bunch of unemployed blokes in Sheffield who band together for a naked extravaganza.

Foxcatcher – BBC Two – 11.05pm

Intense true story of amateur wrestling obsession and ultimate tragedy, starring Steve Carrell, Channing Tatum and Mark Ruffalo.

Rocky Balboa – ITV – 11.05pm

Until Creed, this was the best send-off to the Rocky series.

Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping – Film 4 – 11.10pm

Should have been better than it was, but Andy Samberg’s cartoonish send-up of the music industry is decent enough.

Sexy Beast – Channel 4 – 12.10am

Excellent gangster thriller with Ray Winstone, Ian McShane, and an endlessly profane Ben Kingsley.

LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
