It holds a 96% Rotten Tomatoes score.

Staying in this Tuesday evening? Well, you have a few entertainment options on offer.

Amazon Prime Video just added 12 very big movies to its library, including one of the best dramas of the last decade.

You could also watch a film featuring the greatest car crash scene in cinema history on its 20th anniversary.

However, for even more options, the following are the movies airing on TV tonight.

Assault on Precinct 13 – Legend – 9pm

Our pick for tonight is this 1976 movie about a police officer, two criminals and a station secretary who must defend a defunct L.A. precinct office against a siege by a bloodthirsty street gang.

The breakthrough film of writer-director John Carpenter (who would later go on to direct classics like Halloween and The Thing), Assault on Precinct 13 sees the filmmaker cribbing various elements from older westerns and updating them for a more modern setting.

Holding a 96% Rotten Tomatoes score, the movie has gone on to be considered a classic by many thanks to its eerie electronic score made by Carpenter itself, its mean-and-lean storytelling and its almost unrelenting sense of tension.

It even inspired a decent 2005 remake with Ethan Hawke and Laurence Fishburne.

Saving Private Ryan – Film4 – 9pm

Steven Spielberg’s devastating and epic World War II drama.

Mad Max – ITV4 – 9pm

The first entry in the legendary apocalyptic action series.

The Break-Up – Comedy Central – 9pm

This comedy-drama focuses on a couple (Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn) who break-up but aren’t willing then to move out of their shared condo.

From the Dark – Horror Xtra – 9pm

This horror from the director of the currently in cinemas Let the Wrong One In follows a couple (Niamh Algar and Stephen Cromwell) on a trip through the Irish countryside who find themselves hunted by a creature who only attacks at night.

Empire State – Turner Classic Movies – 9pm

This average crime drama follows two childhood friends (Liam Hemsworth and Michael Angarano) who rob an armored car repository and the NYPD officer (Dwayne Johnson) who stands in their way.

Hostel – Legend – 10.50pm

In this notoriously violent horror, three backpackers travel to a Slovakian city that promises to meet their hedonistic expectations, with no idea of the hell that awaits them.

Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth – Horror Xtra – 10.55pm

Pinhead comes to New York City in what is one of the better Hellraiser sequels.
