One of legendary horror filmmaker John Carpenter's most underrated movies, Prince of Darkness follows a group of scientists in LA who are asked to assist a Catholic priest (Donald Pleasence) in investigating an ancient cylinder of liquid discovered in a monastery.
They soon come to learn that the mysterious substance is in fact the essence of Satan.

American Gigolo - Film4 - 1.10am
Our pick for tonight is this 1980 crime thriller about a high-priced escort in Los Angeles (Richard Gere) who becomes romantically involved with a prominent politician's wife (Lauren Hutton), while also becoming the prime suspect in a murder case.
Written and directed by Paul Schrader (perhaps best known for penning the screenplay for Taxi Driver), American Gigolo was a hit with both audiences and critics thanks to its commanding lead turn from Gere, its stylish visuals and its twisty plot.
The movie is also noteworthy for its Giorgio Moroder-composed soundtrack - with its main theme being the hit Blondie single 'Call Me' - as well as for making the Giorgio Armani brand of clothes popular in Hollywood due to them featuring prominently in Gere's character's wardrobe.
