Movies on TV Sunday 28 November

SUNDAY.

A day of rest for many.

Let’s try and keep things chilled out, so.

Here, have a list of movies on TV on Sunday (28 November) to enjoy…

Despicable Me – ITV2 – 6.05pm

The first one.

The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel – Film4 – 6.35pm

The second one.

The Simpsons Movie – E4 – 7.15pm

Surprisingly enjoyable, considering how off the rails The Simpsons was by 2007.

The Holiday – ITV2 – 8pm

Our main pick this evening is a Christmas movie… at the end of November.

Tis the season, we suppose.

The Holiday did alright at the box office back in 2006 but didn’t fare all that well with critics – it ‘boasts’ a 49% rating on Rotten Tomatoes – but the years have been kind to the romantic comedy as more and more fans make themselves known via social media and retrospective articles, year after year.

As for the plot; two single women living on opposite sides of the Atlantic – Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet – agree to trade their surroundings with one another, leading to the possibility of love and the reality of hard decisions.

Jude Law and Jack Black provide game support.

Legally Blonde – RTÉ 2 – 9pm

Reese Witherspoon tries to prove herself in the law world in a comedy that has become quite a cult hit in the years since its release all the way back in 2001.

xXx: Return of Xander Cage – E4 – 9pm

He’s back!

Passengers – Film4 – 9pm

Fairly warped sci-fi romance with Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence.

Everest – Sky Showcase – 9pm

A starry cast – Jake Gyllenhaal, Josh Brolin, Jason Clarke, Robin Wright, Keira Knightley, Sam Worthington, Emily Watson – get to grips with the behemoth that is Mount Everest in this tragic biographical account.

American Pie: The Wedding – Comedy Central – 9pm

The third one.

Mad Max 2 – ITV4 – 11pm

The second one, also known as The Road Warrior.

The Vanishing – Channel 4 – 11pm

Gerard Butler stars in a psychological thriller centred around on the disappearance of three lighthouse keepers.

Blue Velvet – Film4 – 11.15pm

An absolute classic bizarre film noir mystery from David Lynch.

Van Wilder: Party Liaison – Comedy Central – 11.15pm

Ryan Reynolds gets up to outrageous carry-on in college.

The Purge: Election Year – E4 – 12.05am

The third one.
