Movies on TV - Animals (2019)

Our pick of the movies on TV tonight is this underrated 2019 comedy drama set in Dublin. Starring Holliday Grainger and Alia Shawkat as two partying best friends whose relationship changes after one gets engaged to a tee-totaller.

The supporting cast is made up of some great Irish actors including Fra Fee, Dermot Murphy, Amy Molloy, Kwaku Fortune, Olwen Fouéré and Pat Shortt.

While going slightly under the radar over here, Animals was highly praised upon its release and retains a very healthy 87% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. If you can look past Grainger’s below-par Irish accent, the performances are great all around and it’s a moving story about the struggles people face in their twenties.
