The name of the new Star Wars Episode VIII film has been revealed

We’ve had The Force Awakens. We’ve had Rogue One. Now the name of the next installment of the Star Wars saga has been revealed.

On 15 December 2017, everyone will be flocking to the cinema to see the hugely-anticipated Star Wars film… The Last Jedi.

After months (probably years in some if the slightly older sections of the Star Wars fanbase) of speculation, the name was confirmed from the official Star Wars Twitter account.

Directed by Rian Johnson, the film will pick up where Episode VII left off. Little is known about the plot at this stage, but the name (and ending of The Force Awakens) suggests that it will concentrate on Luke Skywalker. Then again, the Force is also strong with Rey.

This will be the last film role for Carrie Fisher, who sadly passed away in December 2016.
