An impressive all-star voice cast - Sharon Stone, Sylvester Stallone, eh... Woody Allen - feature in this animated comedy that is probably funnier than A Bug's Life, but just as forgettable.
DARKEST HOUR
Gary Oldman won the Best Actor Oscar for his portrayal of Winston Churchill set against the impending arrival of World War II.
DAY SHIFT
A brand new Netflix original, with Jamie Foxx fighting vampires, with stunt choreography from the John Wick guys. 59% on Rotten Tomatoes.
DEAD SILENCE
The director of Saw and The Conjuring made this horror about a scary puppet doll, clearly laying the groundwork for Annabelle. It isn't great, but probably worthwhile for a few jump scares.
THE GREAT WALL
Matt Damon and Pedro Pascal and Matt Damon's weird Irish accent join forces with warriors on the Great Wall of China to fight off (checks notes) huge alien monsters. A bonkers blockbuster.
THE INTERVIEW
Seth Rogen and James Franco set up the interview of a lifetime with North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Un (Randall Park). Some hilarity ensues.
KINDERGARTEN COP
Arnie is an undercover detective who is assigned a job at a preschool to get info from the kids and their parents. A bit of a classic, tbh. Netflix has also added the 2016 sequel Kindergarten Cop 2, fronted by Dolph Lundgren, but we don't talk about that one.
THE LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT
The 2009 remake of the very controversial horror, with a group of criminals taking refuge in a home that happens to owned by the parents of one of the gang's recent victims. A truly feel-bad movie.
MEMENTO
The movie that made everyone sit up and pay attention to Christopher Nolan. A murder-mystery in reverse, featuring some tremendous performances from Guy Pearce and Carrie-Anne Moss.
MR. PEABODY AND SHERMAN
An animated comedy about a young boy and his adopted dog, travelling through time to fix a rift they created. Pretty funny, the kids will probably love it.
THE MUMMY
The bad Tom Cruise one, not the good Brendan Fraser one.
PETER RABBIT
James Corden voices this animated bunny who causes chaos everywhere he goes. Domhnall Gleeson and Rose Byrne are the humans who have to clean up his mess.
REPO MEN
Jude Law and Forest Whitaker star in this sci-fi action-thriller from the director of some of the best Game Of Thrones episodes. Big ideas, very violent, well-acted, not perfectly executed.
THE ROADS NOT TAKEN
The story of a father (Javier Bardem) and his daughter (Elle Fanning), as they travel through parallel lives they could've lived. An interesting movie, but not a good movie.
SLENDER MAN
A horror movie based off the viral internet story, with a group of teenagers who believe a monster is forcing them to kill their friends. 8% on Rotten Tomatoes, just FYI.
SPLIT
James McAvoy and Anya Taylor-Joy are spectacular in M. Night Shyamalan's horror about a man with multiple personality disorder who kidnaps girls as a sacrifice to an emerging new personality.
TOWER HEIST
A comedy heist movie with Ben Stiller, Eddie Murphy, Casey Affleck and Kate Upton. It is perfectly watchable.
THE UNBORN
Gary Oldman and Odette Anabelle star in this horror about a young woman who believes she is being haunted by the spirit of her dead brother who died in their mother's womb. 9% on Rotten Tomatoes.
WARCRAFT
The director of Moon was tasked with adapting this much-loved video game franchise and making it the next Lord of the Rings. It didn't reach those giddy heights, but it actually is still pretty entertaining.
THE WEDDING DATE
Debra Missing and Dermot Mulroney star in this rom-com about a maid of honour and a best man discover they used to date years earlier.
WILD TARGET
An assassin (Bill Nighy) is hired to kill a con artist (Emily Blunt), but he falls in love with her instead. Probably not worth your time, tbh.
