Netflix releases tense first look at Ozark’s fourth and final season

Stephen Porzio

The show’s final 14 episodes will be released in two parts in 2022.

Ever since the incredible third season of Ozark hit Netflix in early 2020, fans have been eagerly anticipating what’s next for the show.

Netflix had previously announced that the crime thriller’s fourth season will be its last and will consist of 14 episodes, split into two parts.

However, thanks to the streaming service’s first-ever global fan event Tudum, we now have a confirmed release date in 2022 and a tense first clip from the final batch of episodes which seemingly takes place immediately after season’s three shocking finale.

For those who are unaware, Ozark centres on Marty Byrde (Jason Bateman), a financial advisor who drags his wife Wendy (Laura Linney) and kids from Chicago to the Missouri Ozarks, where he must launder money to appease a Mexican drug cartel.

Yet, it isn’t long before the Byrdes find themselves entangled with the local criminals of their new region too.

Thanks to its complex characters, twists and turns and dark ominous tone, Ozark has grown since its first season in 2017 into becoming one of Netflix’s most popular shows.

While an exact release date and plot details for the fourth season are still under wraps, the streamer says that in the upcoming series “the stakes have never been higher” for the Byrdes.

We can’t wait. Check out the first look at Ozark season four below:
