One to add to your watch list this month.

Without wanting to rub it in or anything, we’re going to be spending a lot of time at home for the next month and probably beyond, so the more stuff we have to keep us entertained, the better.

Netflix have stepped up in that regard with a decent selection of new material for the month of January, and there’s one docuseries that will certainly be of interest, particularly for true crime fans.

The series to which we refer is Night Stalker: The Hunt for a Serial Killer, which tells the true story of Richard Ramirez, one of the most notorious serial killers in US history.

Ramirez carried out a series of brutal and violent crimes in San Francisco and Los Angeles in 1984 and 1985 and was eventually handed down 19 life sentences for 13 counts of murder, five counts of attempted murder, 11 counts of sexual assault and 14 counts of burglary.

Ramirez’s notorious exploits in Los Angeles in particular, many of which were committed on victims as they slept, earned him the moniker ‘Night Stalker’.

The four-part documentary series examines the quest to bring him to justice in Los Angeles in 1985 and the panic that gripped the city and the state of California while he was still at large.

Check out the trailer below; Night Stalker: The Hunt for a Serial Killer comes to Netflix on Wednesday, 13 January.
