A very fun new road trip movie is available to watch from today

It's inspired by the early days of a popular rock band.

This is not another straightforward biopic, however. The movie is set in the modern day.

Believing Analog Dogs have a chance to open for Green Day at an upcoming Los Angeles show, Tommy steals his brother’s car and takes his bandmates on a days-long road trip.

While the journey quickly descends into chaos, the group do meet several interesting characters on the way to LA, including fellow young rocker Olivia (Mckenna Grace, Anniversary).

Full of fun cameos, including by the members of Green Day themselves, Nimrods fizzes with charming, youthful energy.

Sure, its story is conventional and improbable. But if you believe in the power of music and the importance of following your dreams, this should appeal, even if you aren’t hugely familiar with the work of Billy, Mike, and Tré.
