Stranger Things star Noah Schnapp has come out as gay in easily the most Gen Z way possible - on TikTok.

The 18-year-old shared the news with his fans online as he posted a video to his TikTok on Thursday after revealing he had come out to his friends and family.

In the clip, he uses a voiceover that says: "You know what it never was? That serious", as he lay in bed casually.

“When I finally told my friends and family I was gay after being scared in the closet for 18 years and all they said was ‘We know’,” he wrote in a caption accompanying the video.

The clip has racked up over 11 million likes and been viewed more than 60 million times.

Outpouring of love and support for Noah Schnapp

In the comments, the Noah Schnapp post was met with an outpouring of love and support from fans.

The official Netflix account replied with love hearts, to which Noah said: "Love you"

TikToker Kevin McHale commented: "Proud of you"

And many fans were obsessed with the caption the actor used for the video, in which he said he was "more Will than I thought."

Noah Schnapp rose to fame after playing Will Byers in the hit Netflix show Stranger Things alongside Millie Bobby Brown, Winona Ryder and David Harbour.

After the final two episodes of season four of the show, Noah spoke to US publication Variety and revealed that his character was gay and in love with his best friend Mike, played by Finn Wolfhard.

One person commented on the TikTok: "Why is nobody talking about the caption???"
