Normal People star Paul Mescal is to raffle off the chain worn by his character in the series in order to raise money for Pieta House.
Mescal plays Connell in the hit TV series but somehow the chain he wears has become a figure of its own, with an Instagram page dedicated to it having over 150,000 followers.
The raffle only opened on Monday and has already raised over €12,000 for the charity.
“I am delighted to be able to help out Pieta by raffling off my chain that has taken on a following of its own since Normal People hit television screens," Mescal said.
"Pieta is a cause very close to my heart, having experienced loss due to suicide in my local town while growing up. Episode 10 of Normal People also touches upon depression and suicidal ideation, so it seemed like a very special partnership to want to help those in similar situations.
"I want to play my part in helping sustain these free services across Ireland.”
The raffle will be open for two weeks from 25 May until Monday 8 June when the winner will be selected at random via Pieta's Facebook page.
Details for the draw can be found here.
