SEXUAL CHOCOLATE!

In the pantheon of famous one-off characters in cinema history, I defy anyone to rival Mr. Randy Watson in terms of impact.

Famous for playing ‘Joe the Policeman’ on the ‘What’s Going Down’ episode of ‘That’s My Mama,’ during that famous scene in Coming to America, there isn’t a single person in the room at the Black Awareness rally that doesn’t think this guy is a complete spoofer, and yet, he commits.

Boy howdy, does he commit!

Reverend Brown might think that Randy is the finest singer in Jackson Heights, but Eddie Murphy’s alter ego is just terrible.

This being said, Watson’s band, the iconic Sexual Chocolate, do play so fine, we agree.

His hissy fit will always be hilarious.

Anyway, now that we know Coming to America 2 is definitely happening, the excitement levels are going through the roof because Craig Brewer’s film will be released on 7  August, 2020.

As for the plot, we’re told that “Akeem learns about a long lost son, and must return to America to meet his unlikely heir to the throne of Zamunda.”

It has also been reported that the producers are planning on bringing back Arsenio Hall (Semmi), Shari Headley (Lisa McDowell), John Amos, (Lisa’s father) and James Earl Jones ( the king of Zamunda).

As of yet, nothing official has been confirmed regarding casting – aside from Eddie Murphy’s return.

However, we’re very excited to say that on 7 August, 2020, it’s time to let your soul glow.

Bring it on.
