Conor and Jock are back!

Some good news, finally. The Young Offenders Series 3 is coming to a screen near you VERY soon.

It has just been confirmed that everyone’s favourite Corkonians (sorry Dennis Irwin/Cillian Murphy/*insert other famous Cork person here*) will be returning for another series of the smash hit TV show on FRIDAY 24 JULY.

We initially reported on the exciting news about Series 3 here, but we can now officially confirm that the new series will be available to watch even sooner than first expected, taking the primetime Friday night slots previously held by The Late Late Show and The Graham Norton Show, airing on RTÉ One at 9.35pm and on BBC One at 9.30pm.

Basically, replace your Friday night fix of Tubs and Graham Norton with Conor and Jock and you’re sorted.

For viewers in the north or in the UK, the box set of Series 3 will also be available to watch on the BBC iPlayer and BBC Three from Sunday 19 July.

Having already stolen everyone’s hearts (and bikes) in The Young Offenders movie in 2016, as well as two hugely successful TV series, Conor (Alex Murphy) and Jock (Chris Walley) will officially return for a six-part series which was originally filmed back-to-back in Series 2 in 2019.

The Young Offenders creator, Peter Foott, said,

“We are so happy that series 3 is getting to screens a little earlier than we thought it might.  Given that it has been a very difficult time for so many over the last few months, we hope that series 3 will bring a smile to our audiences faces when it’s most needed.  The whole team are really excited to have everyone see the new series, it was a labour of love for all our amazing cast and crew.  We’re also delighted that it will be moving to RTÉ 1 at 9.35pm on Fridays.  We really hope viewers enjoy this third series which we are very proud of.”

We do have some questions though…

Will Sergeant Healy ever catch the bike-snatching best friends? Will Roy Keane return for another star cameo, only to be told to “f*ck off” again? And will Conor and Jock fight Normal People’s Connell for the right to be crowned Ireland’s Sexiest Man Who Wears A Dodgy Silver Chain.

Luckily, we’ve seen the first two VERY funny episodes of the new series and we’re going to be having a chat with the two lads very soon about all of these incredibly important things and more, so keep an eye out for that on JOE over the next wee while.

In the meantime though, let’s take a sneak peek at the very first look at The Young Offenders Series 3…
