Space Jam, the hilarious and charming tale of the Looney Tunes taking on the Monstars in a game of basketball with the help of NBA legend Michael Jordan and Bill Murray, is getting a sequel.

A follow-up to the classic kids film from 1997 was rumoured last year, but today it’s been confirmed, alongside a few exciting details.

It seems that Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James will take up the mantle of the Michael Jordan role, with other stars such as Bugs Bunny, Tweetie Pie and Daffy Duck like to reprise their roles…

Perhaps even more exciting is that Justin Lin is tagged to direct the film. Fans of Community will know him as the man responsible for the show’s iconic paintball episode Modern Warfare.

No release date is set just yet, and the production seems to be in a very preliminary stage, but we are very excited about this.
