If you aren’t right up to date with the latest season of Breaking Bad then you might want to stop reading now. If you are, you should get a good kick out of this.

Fans of the show have returned to their usual modus operandi of telling everyone they possibly can about how good it is following the beginning of the final sequence of episodes in recent weeks.

If you caught the latest episode, you might remember Saul taking to Walt about what to do with Hank now that Hank knows the truth about his brother in law – drug production, deception, money laundering, mass murder and all the rest of it – and suggesting to Walt that he send Hank on ‘a trip to Belize’ as he did with Mike towards the end of the first half of Season Five.

By ‘trip to Belize’, of course, Saul was implying that Walt should send Hank to the big meth lab in the sky (a suggestion that Walt rejected out of hand) and while they were flattered to be mentioned in such a popular show, the Belize Tourism Board also took the opportunity to help market the country as a tourist destination and assure visitors that a trip to Belize in real-life would have nothing like the implications it does in Saul and Walt’s lingo.

The ad also includes a number of references that illustrate just how well-informed they are about Vince Gilligan’s creation and while it’s certainly an admirable effort, might we suggest that they could have saved a lot of time and made better use of space with an alternative Breaking Bad inspired plea for foreign visitors.

BELIZE, BITCH.
