Possible spoilers lie ahead…

Yes, the return of Game of Thrones is not far away at all these days and excitement for the return of the series is beginning to build.

While the new season edges ever closer, fans have been piecing together what might happen in the coming season in a series of fan theories aided by hints from the various snippets of trailers released by HBO.

One of the latest theories points to Arya Stark and who may be her next victim in her quest for vengeance.

And it’s all based around this recent photoshoot for the series…

Take a look at the blade Arya is sporting in the photo, which some eagle-eyed Redditors have recognised from earlier seasons.

Writing on Reddit, user Justacookiecat writes:

“Breakdown of the dagger’s journey (at least in the books but it’s probably the same in the show):

“Littlefinger lost the dagger to Robert Baratheon at the tourney (not to Tyrion as he claims), then it is implied in the books that Joffrey stole the dagger from the king and sent the assassin to kill Bran with it (both Cersei, Jamie and Tyrion comes to this conclusion). Catelyn takes the dagger and gives it to Ned (who shows it to Varys and LF) and when LF betrays Ned he takes the blade back. When Sansa and LF are in the Vale it’s mentioned that he has it with him.

“If Arya now has the dagger, she would have to either steal it from LF or kill him and then take it. We see her sneaking around indoors in the trailer and looking under furniture, it is possible she could have found it in Baelish’s room in Winterfell.”

Basically, the blade belongs to Littlefinger (Aidan Gillen) and if Arya is in possession of it, it means she’s either stolen it from or killed Littlefinger to take it.

Who knew a the Valyrian steel dagger could be such a spoiler… if it happens to be true of course.
