Quentin Tarantino season coming to Dublin and Galway cinemas

Dave Hanratty

Quentin Tarantino season Dublin Galway

On the QT and not very hush-hush at all, really.

Quentin Tarantino is a divisive enough filmmaker but you cannot deny the man’s impact and influence to date.

A new Tarantino movie feels like an event in and of itself, and thus we’re counting the days until the release of Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, which picked up some strong reviews when it debuted at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.

In honour of that star-studded effort, both Dublin’s Light House and Galway’s Pálás cinemas will present an entire retrospective season of the man’s work.

The gang’s all here with screenings of Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, Kill Bill Volumes 1 and 2, Inglorious Basterds, Django Unchained and The Hateful Eight all locked in.

Both showcases run from 1 – 14 August, factoring in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood’s general release at the end.

“Quentin Tarantino creates cinematic worlds that are entirely his own, an aesthetic that pops off the screen, a cinematic language that is steeped in nostalgia and a deep love of cinema, and his trademark quick-fire dialogue,” notes an official release.

“From 1 August, right up until the release of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood on August 14th, you can revisit the films of Quentin Tarantino on the big screen, loud and vibrant, as they deserve to be seen.”
