There may or may not also have been some Whitney Houston singing...
Rosa Salazar is about to hit the big time.
Having already appeared in big productions like Insurgent and Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials, as well as providing some voices for the incredible Big Mouth, it is probably fair to say that taking on the lead role in 2019's first mega-blockbuster is the biggest entry in her CV to date.
JOE sat down with the actress in the lead-up to the release of Alita: Battle Angel, and we discussed the out-of-body experience of seeing herself on the big screen for the first time, the work ethic of director Robert Rodriguez and writer/producer James Cameron, and what she would most like to see if we're lucky enough to get a sequel.
There is also some singing of a classic Whitney song, because why shouldn't there be?
On top of that, we also chatted to Alita's love interest in the movie, played by Keean Johnson.
Johnson discussed getting his ass kicked (A LOT!) in the movie, working with some of the stunt team from the most recent Mission: Impossible movie, and his next big blockbuster Midway, from the director of Independence Day and The Day After Tomorrow.
Check out that interview in full right here:
We also had the opportunity to chat to the movie's producer Jon Landau (who was also behind Avatar and Titanic), and director Robert Rodriguez, as well as stars Jennifer Connelly and Christoph Waltz.
All of those interviews will be available to view on JOE's YouTube channel, and on The Big Reviewski!
