RTÉ 2 are having a Lenny Abrahamson feast this month ahead of the Oscars

The Irishman is up for Best Director for Room.

We’re sure you’ve heard by now that Lenny Abrahamson, who JOE had the pleasure of interviewing recently, has been nominated for Best Director at the Oscars, thanks to his fantastic film, Room.

To celebrate the incredible success of Room, which the Academy has also nominated in the categories of Best Film, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Actress, RTÉ 2 are screening three of his best known films ahead of the big night.

First up will be the terrific What Richard Did, starring Jack Reynor, on Sunday, February 14 at 9.30pm.

The following Saturday, February 20, Garage, which starred Pat Shortt like he was never seen before, will be on at 9.30pm.

Finally, on Monday, February 29 – the night after the Oscars – Adam and Paul, the story of two drug addicts in Dublin, will be shown at 11pm.

The Academy Awards are on Sunday, February 28, with RTÉ 2 screening the whole show on Monday night, February 29 at 9pm.
