"You're clowning. You're not clowning? I sense clowns."
We all know the reason why Deadpool managed to secure his own spin-off film because the world's most famous smart-ass assassin told us himself.
"Whose balls did I have to fondle to get my very own movie"? I can't tell you his name, but it rhymes with "Polverine." Truth be told, we're delighted he did.
While we're certain that Logan doesn't get his balls fondled in his new film, there's no denying that the most beloved character in the X-Men films has a lot to live up to because Deadpool was a bloody riot.
Aside from the hilarious one-liners, great action sequences and absurd destruction of "a fourth wall break inside a fourth wall break? That's like, sixteen walls", one of the main reasons why it worked was the fact that Ryan Reynolds absolutely loves the character of Wade Wilson.
Thanks to one of the best post-credit sequences of all time, we already knew that Cable will be featuring alongside Deadpool in the sequel but with production about to start on the project, who will be playing him in David Leitch's (John Wick) film?
It appears that Oscar winner Russell Crowe is teasing us all with the idea of starring alongside the merc with a mouth.
The star of Gladiator and American Gangster has even been retweeting some fan art which depicts him as Cable.

In case you're wondering, Robert Liefeld is the comic creator of both Dedapool, Cable and more.
This isn't the first time that both men have discussed the possibility of Crowe starring alongside Reynolds.

If you're excited about the possibility of Crowe joining the Deadpool sequel, it seems that Ryan Reynolds will be a key man in any decision that's made.
If this happens, we're going to throw our T-Rex hands into the air. Time to make the chimi-fuckin'-changas!
