Always Sunny Season 14

We’re getting a nod to one of Sunny’s best episodes.

With Season 14 of Always Sunny set for release on 25 September in the US, we’re certain that it’s going to be fantastic but as the gang have constantly showed us, you can never take things for granted in Hollywood.

Of course, we’re all very interested in seeing films like Thunder Gun Express and Lethal Weapon 6, but what about some of the other ideas that have failed to materialise?

For example, we’re itching to see the film were Dolph Lundgren is a super smart, ripped scientist who smells crime. As for his character, we’re still not sure if the star of Creed II is a dog or runs like a dog, but we’re damn excited!

After all, Dennis pitched it perfectly when he said: “then he smells crime again, he’s out busting heads. Then he’s back to the lab for some more full penetration. Smells crime. Back to the lab, full penetration. Crime. Penetration. Crime. Full penetration. Crime. Penetration. And this goes on and on and back and forth for 90 or so minutes until the movie just sort of ends.”

Well, it turns out that Dolph Lundgren will be starring in the new season of Always Sunny, as reported by Deadline.

In the new season, Lundgren will be playing a character called John Thundergun in a film noir episode. Here’s hoping that the gang don’t get split up again en route to the cinema where thet have to utter the famous words “I’ll come back for you!”

FYI, that particular episode featured one of the greatest ever Frank Reynolds scenes.

This will always be funny.

Elsewhere, the new season will feature an episode about global warming, a Waiting for Godot-themed laser tag adventure, and an episode where the gang puts their apartments up for rent on AirBnB in an effort to find love — which will be one of two episodes directed by Glenn Howerton (Dennis).

A few days ago, Rob McElhenney shared this footage of Lundgren on set and to paraphrase Sweet Dee’s love of Thunder Gun Express, “we’re very interested in seeing that episode.”

Season 14 of Always Sunny airs in the US on 25 September.
