Rest in peace, Beansie.

Sopranos actor Paul Herman has sadly passed away at the age of 76, on the day of his birthday.

Best known for his role as Beansie in The Sopranos, he also starred as Randy in David O. Russell’s Silver Linings Playbook and as Whispers DiTullio in Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman.

His cause of death is currently unknown, with his Sopranos co-star Michael Imperioli, who played Christopher Moltisanti in the show, taking to Instagram to pay tribute to the late actor.

“Our friend and colleague Paul Herman has passed away. Paulie was just a great dude,” he wrote.

“A first-class storyteller and raconteur and one hell of an actor. Goodfellas, Once Upon a Time in America, The Irishman, and of course The Sopranos are some highlights.

“Paulie lived around the corner from me the last few years and I am glad we got to spend some time together before he left us.

“I’ll miss him. Lots of love to his family, friends, and community of actors and filmmakers.”

The actor was also known for roles in movies including Up Close, We Own the Night, Heatwave, Crazy Heart, Fast Change, Sleeper, Police Land, The Fan, Analyzing That and The Day-tripper.
