South Park is famous for creating episodes in ridiculously short time frames, but the show missed its ‘to-air’ deadline for the first time in the show’s history last night.

South Park Studios was hit with a power outage on Tuesday night, which shut down the animation, editing, and sound computers causing the episode “Goth Kids 3: Dawn of the Posers” to be postponed until next Wednesday.

Instead of the new episode being shown in the US last night, Comedy Central aired everyone’s favourite episode (according to an online vote) “Scott Tenorman Must Die”.

The power outage brought and end to the show’s 240-episode long streak. Trey Parker, one of South Park’s creators, said in a statement: “It sucks to miss an air date, but after all these years of tempting fate by delivering the show last minute, I guess it was bound to happen.”

So you’ll have to wait yet another week for the latest episode of South Park. Until then you can enjoy all the best bits from Randy Marsh.
