To celebrate, they’ll be showing some amazing classics as well as some fantastic modern movies all week.
Irish folk LOVE going to the cinema.
We are regularly found to be the highest cinema attending population in all of Europe, so the news of a new cinema should make a lot of people very happy.
Considering how successful the Stella re-opening has been in Rathmines, they are now opening up a sister cinema in the neighbouring Dublin suburb of Ranelagh.
Located in the lower ground floor of the new Devlin Hotel, the 44-seat cinema is open to the public (not just those staying in the hotel), with Karl Geragthy, Theatre Director for the Stella Theatres, telling us:
“The design is completely different to our Rathmines theatre, here we stripped things back and focused on classic mid-century furniture and clean crisp Danish design.
“Just like in Rathmines, our Ranelagh theatre will have a fully functioning cocktail bar and delicious food menu including Barbecue Pulled Pork Belly Sandwich, Fish Tacos, a selection of Flatbreads and lots more to choose from, which is delivered down to your seat while you watch some of the best movies in the world.
“The Dublin 6 neighbourhood is famed for its amazing restaurants, cosy pubs and love for all things art and culture, so we hope that the new Stella Theatre will become part of Ranelagh’s growing cultural landscape.”
