Succession’s Brian Cox leads a cast of recognisable faces.

Looking for something to watch this hump day?

Well, two of the best 2021 Irish movies have recently been added to Netflix, alongside a crime-comedy that boasts a great turn by Colin Farrell.

However, for those still seeking more to watch, here’s what’s on the box this evening.

On Her Majesty’s Secret Service – ITV 4 – 8pm

Famously George Lazenby’s only turn as Bond, On Her Majesty’s Secret Service has gone on to be regarded as one of the best 007 flicks thanks to its gorgeous visuals, Diana Rigg’s excellent performance and an unforgettable ending.

The Escapist – Film4 – 9pm

In our pick for tonight, a prisoner (Brian Cox) 14 years into a life sentence hatches a plan to escape upon receiving upsetting news about his daughter.

Shot partly in Dublin’s Kilmainham Gaol, The Escapist is a gritty and tense thriller that features a commanding central turn from Brian Cox and a plot that goes in directions you may not expect.

The supporting cast is also impressive, including Damian Lewis, Dominic Cooper, Joseph Fiennes and Liam Cunningham.

Mad Max – Turner Classic Movies – 9pm

The first entry in the now legendary post-apocalyptic series.

Dumb and Dumber To – Comedy Central – 9pm

The long-awaited sequel to the classic buddy comedy starring Jeff Daniels and Jim Carrey.

Mindhunters – Horror Channel – 9pm

Not the incredible similarly titled Netflix series but the mediocre 2004 slasher film.

I Love You, Man – Comedy Central Extra – 10pm

In this comedy, Paul Rudd plays a man without friends who seeks a best man for his upcoming wedding.

Space Cowboys – ITV 4 – 10.55pm

Clint Eastwood directs and stars in this adventure drama about four older pilots who are sent into space to repair an old Soviet satellite.

Spy – Film4 – 11.05pm

This very funny spy spoof boasts a hilarious supporting turn from action man Jason Statham.
