the boys season 4 big trailers this week

That includes possibly the craziest Nicolas Cage film yet.

Welcome back to JOE’s trailer column, where we round up the hottest trailers and teasers and let you know what to expect on your screens, both big and small, very soon.

There is plenty to be excited about, so let’s dig right in to the clips.

The Boys Season 3

Kicking off with one of the most anticipated TV shows of the year, The Boys are back for yet another season on Amazon Prime.

Adapted from the comics of the same name, the series has gone from strength to strength, bring a more adult and ultra-violent look at the world of superheroes, which is a nice counterbalance to Marvel’s more family friendly fare.

Compelling characters, fantastic action sequences, and incredibly quotable – if you’re looking for an excuse to start watching The Boys, set 3 June as your deadline before Season 3 drops on Amazon Prime.

Deep Water

What is it with Ben Affleck playing a suspicious husband all the time?

This film was set to release in November of 2020, but was pushed back until 18 March due to delays caused by Covid.

Affleck stars alongside Ana de Armas as a husband and wife with an incredibly tumultuous relationship, which is strengthened further by the sudden murders of people around their small town.

The two stars actually dated for a period following filming Deep Water and have since broken up, which will make watching them act as a couple all the stranger.

If you liked Gone Girl, you just might like this.

DMZ

HBO very rarely misses when they make a limited series, and it looks like this could be another hit.

DMZ, based on the comic series of the same name, stars Rosario Dawson as a medic looking for her son following the Second American Civil War.

Manhattan becomes a huge demilitarised zone (see what they did there), full of danger and different factions fighting for control over the city that never sleeps.

DMZ is set to arrive on HBO on 17 March.

Bridgerton Season 2

Everyone’s favourite steamy period drama is back on screens very soon.

The Bridgerton siblings are looking for love again, and there’s no better romance than a forbidden romance.

Expect some very eloquent language, beautiful locales, and some proper scandal.

The new season arrives on Netflix on 25 March.

The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent

This could very well be one of Nic Cage’s craziest films to date.

The man has become something of an unlikely icon following years of taking roles in surreal films across the world.

This film sees Nic Cage as… well, Nic Cage.

Similar to Jean-Claude van Damme’s JCVD, the movie sees Cage have to become a real hero to take down a dangerous crime boss, who happens to be obsessed with Cage’s work.

Incredibly meta, and with appearances from Pedro Pascal, Neil Patrick Harris, and Tiffany Haddish, this film could end up as a potential highlight of 2022.

The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent arrives in cinemas on 22 April.
