Our TV movie pick for tonight (Monday, 4 May) is the third installment of Denzel Washington's beloved Equalizer franchise.
Based on the 1980s TV series of the same name, the two-time Oscar-winner has starred in three Equalizer films to date - starting with 2014's The Equalizer.
In the movies, he plays Robert McCall - a man trying to put his shadowy, violent past behind him and live in peace.
2023’s The Equalizer 3 sees McCall finally think he’s retired and enjoying the quiet life in a sleepy Italian town. Spoiler: he very much isn’t.
Local gangsters start terrorising the place and Denzel Washington’s human shutdown button does what he does best — calmly, efficiently, and violently removes the problem. Turns out retirement doesn’t suit him… or the criminals.
Washington stars alongside Dakota Fanning, Sonia Ammar, and Andrea Dodero.
I guess we'll continue watching this space, however, for now, The Equalizer 3 airs tonight on RTÉ One at 9.30pm.

Additionally, upon is promotion of Gladiator 2 last year, Washingtop told Esquire that more Equalizer sequels were in the works.
"I told them I would do another Equalizer, and we’re doing four and five. More people are happy about that—people love those daggone Equalizers."
"I’ve come to realise that the Equalizer films are for me, too, because they’re for the people.
"They want me to go get the bad guys. 'We can’t get them, so you go get them.' And I say: 'Okay, I’ll get them! Just wait right there. I’ll be right back!'"
